$650 Billion Dollar Bailout for Small Business Owners – pt 3 So as we’ve discussed, our system of economics is failing us, our kids, and our grand kids and produces a type of wage slavery that sucks the life and vitality right out of us. And what’s even more outrageous is that we choose this willingly. Why? Because we don’t know what our “authorized work” really is and just how powerful and wealth producing it can be.
This workaholic system of unending debt and consumption keeps us running to and fro – chaos in a blender – “skating backwards at the speed of light with our hair on fire.” That has become the “normal” experience of millions of us. But some of us are beginning to think that this is not at all acceptable. It is demeaning and debilitating and is caving in on itself as we speak.
Well, to get off the Titanic we need…not just motivation but tools and strategy.
Let me get down to brass tacks here.
Did you know that you lose 20% of your time by trying to do two projects at once? By the time you add a third project to the mix, nearly half your time is wasted in task switching. Did you know the reason most of us try to work (and live) this way? It is because we are driven by the fear of scarcity. After the more scarce something is, the more valuable right? And don’t we want more value? See the trap?
Did you know the impact of simply letting your email, phone, and instant messaging interrupt what you’re doing can be profound.
In a BBC study carried out at the Institute of Psychiatry they found those distracted by incoming email and phone calls saw a 10-point fall in their IQ – more than twice that found in studies of the impact of smoking marijuana, said researchers. Surprised?
Can you see that the WAY we work is causing us to miss our calling? It is robbing us of our potential? Work that emanates from this is the work that is laced with miracles. It’s the work that the whole world is waiting for us to do.
